Large attack on Google

InterNet users, who wanted to visit this afternoon Google, clicked in emptiness. As the Swisscom Provider IP plus writes, it concerned a substantial attack on Google.

With Google went for numerous surfer in the late afternoon nothing at all more. Retrieval queries on google.ch did not turn in emptying, on google.com were it different.

The Swisscom Internetprovider IP plus wrote around 17.32 to the disturbance:

“you take please to the knowledge that all our DNS servers and the services depending on it function again. The reason for the substantial problems is a Denial OF service attack (inundate with retrieval queries, D talk.) on Google. For the moment Google can answer therefore no retrieval queries.”

If the analysis of the Swisscom proves to be true, it must have concerned a gigantic attack on the search machine operator. Only after approximately two hours the search machine was again functional.

According to InterNet expert David Rosenthal became the overloading of Google - if it were actual Denial OF service an attack - probably
by a so-called offer Net causes: “usually in addition innumerable PCS are gekapert unnoticed by a virus. On a certain instruction from the InterNet the in such a way hooked up computer army floods a certain server with inquiries without the owners of PC somewhat notices.”

Of the attack not only the search machine, but all services, which Google offers, was concerned: GMail, AdWords, AdSense, Blogspot etc.

Google has altogether one hundred thousand servers. Also over 1.5 million visitors per month is the search machine the usually-clicked side of Switzerland. In Swiss market lies the portion of the search machine with over eighty per cent.
