Adwords MCC bug
June 29, 2007
Many advertisers in Google adwords have been reported that there is a bug in their accounts. The nasty message that advertisers are receiving is the following: “Your qualification is at risk”. This is a short description of the bug in adwords:
Over the weekend, one of my prime accounts dropped from my MCC! I have their password so can access their account (which is what I’m paid for) directly.
As a side note, my managed spend has also dropped. Whether or not an account was dropped through technical glitch or the relationship ceased, why does the past managed spend amount drop? If I managed it in the past, I managed that spend. Breaking the MCC to Client link shouldn’t drop the lifetime MCC spend managed. Silly.
By the way, after logging in directly, I can see my client’s account still shows my MCC as their account manager - so this is a glitch / error with G. I’d break the link and re-establish it, but because of the way they measure history and past spend managed, I’m afraid trying this will wipe the slate clean or cause other unknown errors (and doesn’t fix the base problem anyhow).
Need a fix here! Good thing I have direct access to their account - it would be professionally embarrassing, and maybe costly in terms of dollars and reputation, for me to be “managing” without access to their account!
From the MCC: “Your qualification is at risk.
You are at risk of losing your qualification due to low account spending. To retain your qualification, you must maintain the minimum account spending level.”
and what google says:
This is a known issue effecting some advertisers, and engineering is presently at work on a resolution - as a priority. They tell me that you may rest easy that your accounts are still linked, by the way.
I certainly apologize for the inconvenience, to those who are effected.
