This tool have been for a long time in Google. But I am sure a lot of people still don’t know about it so I want to share it with you.

The Google Adwords Keyword Tool now offer a research feature that they call “global trends” – a 12 months snapshot of keyword searches on Google. In fact, there’s a couple new enhancements to the tool that are well worth checking out. And absolutely anyone can check it out, because now it’s all available externally, and you don’t need an Adwords account:

Note that some webmaster says that this tool is not working or is irrevelant but at least having more than one tool in house you can take some ideas for your keyword research. Some other tools that can be usefull: Overture (free) and Wordtracker (not free)

I love the Adwords tool for brainstorming. Type in a keyword or two and they give you a whole page full of related stuff.

I also think it’s a little vague for actually basing niche research off of (sometimes their green bar implies that a topic might be fairly popular, but it turns out it gets 100 searches a month or something pretty low), and I like http://www.keyworddiscovery.com/search.html for harder numbers.

I’ve never paid for keyword research tools though. I’m sure the paid ones give you a lot of good information, but I’ve found the basics to be enough in confirming whether or not a niche is a good one (a lot of times, it’s just a matter of using common sense: i.e. products with higher profit margins can pay affiliates more or–if you’re selling them yourself–put more in your pocket).
