After posting 15 search engine optimization tips, I found a good post about something similar on seo tips. Also found some new seo tips in this article as links in footer. As I mentioned before search engine optimization is a wide topic and when you read more articles and tips you know more about it.

A lot of folks think the more keywords they fit into their METa tag the better —BOOOOO WRONG. It will actually hurt your rank. A LOT. yup . haha, i know, i know…but hey! life is still good, right? Ok What you HAVE TO DO: when making the keyword selection is to look at how many website compete for the same keyword: For example: if you decide to choose keyword “widgets” you will probably find around 80,000,000 something like this..but if you live in detroit, you might consider : Detroit widget and so on. YOU CAN START OFF with “detroit widget” and slowly move onto bigger and more competitive words like “date”. Again, i am using widgets as an example.

IMPORTANT: CHOOSE NO MORE THEN THREE KEYWORDS OF YOUR CHOICE. NO MORE! ex: “detroit widgets”, “fun detroit widgets”, “best detroit widgets”. Thats it! GOOGLE will place more “WEIGHT” on those three keywords when it comes to user searching.

IMPORTANT: In your TITLE: do not say something like “Welcome to my website..blah blah blah. WHY? DONT do that. Instead INCLUDE THREE KEYWORDS in there. make it look nice. Something like this: “detroit widgets ¦ fun detroit widgets ¦ best detroit widgets ¦
USING THIS : ” ¦ ” to separate them. Google likes it.

IMPORTANT: H1 HEADER Tags and H2 HEADER tags. wow. lots of weight there. figure this yourself. just note. its important.

IMPORTANT: Your PAGE CONTENT: make sure you mention those THREE keywords in your page content and even better, BOLD text those words, just ONCE each, DONT OVER DO IT. google likes that.

IMPORTANT: Include keyword in your FOOTER. YES FOOTER!

IMPORTANT: When you upload your picture to your website , what did you save your picture as? ex : my picture? ROFL. no! save it as one of your KEYWORDS.Google likes that! so you would save it like : “detroitwidgets.jpg”

This will NOT make drastic changes to your google search but IT WILL HELP A LOT!

Some personal notes:

“A lot of folks think the more keywords they fit into their METa tag the better”. That is true nothing in excess is good. Even s-e-x right?.

“IMPORTANT: CHOOSE NO MORE THEN THREE KEYWORDS OF YOUR CHOICE. NO MORE! ” That is not proven but I think from 1-2-3 will be enough. I prefer on each article that I write to focuss in one keyword. For example in this article I choosed to go with “SEO TIPS” and not search engine optimization because this keyword is so competitive and I know that I am not ready to compete with the big ones. But the example that he gives here which he use the word “Widget” three times can effect your ranking and look “spammy” I will prefer to make it like this in case you are focussing with search engine optimization:
First title: SEO ¦ Search engine optimization (There are the same meaning but different words, you can use different words but the same meaning)
or the second title that I really prefer for my blog:
Second title: Main keyword ¦ and what is about your article.
