In my previous post about announcing that MSN bid on Yahoo!, it seems that the bid was accepted and the transaction will be released soon. But here we go the big G. wrote about this bid which was posted in the Official Google Blog and asked so many interesting questions:

So Microsoft’s hostile bid for Yahoo! raises troubling questions. This is about more than simply a financial transaction, one company taking over another. It’s about preserving the underlying principles of the Internet: openness and innovation.

May I ask what Google means on this? Why Google took over many other companies recently and there were no problem on this?

Could Microsoft now attempt to exert the same sort of inappropriate and illegal influence over the Internet that it did with the PC? While the Internet rewards competitive innovation, Microsoft has frequently sought to establish proprietary monopolies — and then leverage its dominance into new, adjacent markets.

“Competitive” Everyone knows that till now no one can compete with Google. So why not giving a chance to Microsoft to compete and having some balanced competition on the net. Google adwords is the most used Pay Per Click advertising program, Yahoo and MSN is not even close. Google Adsense is the most used Earn Per Click program and Google change their policy and many publishers testimonials says that the earnings are dropping, why not another Earn Per Click program that can compete?.

Google Search Engine is well known that more than 40% of the people use them, with Yahoo and MSN combining both they will have almost 50%. I am not saying that MSN and Yahoo search engine are better, No way! Google for me is the best search engine algorithm that anyone have created. But is good to have some competition and may be Google will have some merci with the ridiculous penalties that some “innocent” webmasters have been suffered. I can say that Google has a monopoly on the internet and Microsoft outside the net (With PC’s) as they mentioned on their blog.

Could the acquisition of Yahoo! allow Microsoft — despite its legacy of serious legal and regulatory offenses — to extend unfair practices from browsers and operating systems to the Internet? In addition, Microsoft plus Yahoo! equals an overwhelming share of instant messaging and web email accounts. And between them, the two companies operate the two most heavily trafficked portals on the Internet. Could a combination of the two take advantage of a PC software monopoly to unfairly limit the ability of consumers to freely access competitors’ email, IM, and web-based services? Policymakers around the world need to ask these questions — and consumers deserve satisfying answers…

I agree with Google in this point. Microsoft may plan to limit the ability of consumers to freely access competitors emails and that will be a huge impact for Google and the users who use them will be very angry (I will be the first one). Knowing Bill Gates, this can be possible.

What everyone wants is competition so people can have more opportunities to choose. For example, if you want to make money per click which program you will choose? Google Adsense for sure. But what about those webmasters that have been banned for NO REASON from their program? They will have no choice. But with microsoft in the line Google have to really check if there were really invalid clicks.

This year will be an excited year on the net. May be we will have some real competition and more opportunities to choose between many companies? May be we will have another Big G on the way? We will have to wait and see what Microsoft will plan and how they will do. Usually Microsoft do “bad-moves” but this time YOU Bill Gates have to re-think about OPEN-SOURCE and believe in this community to really compete with the big G. A big Kiss to the Big G and Good luck!

I agree that such an event would make 2008 quite an interesting year and publishers would have only to gain as a result since competition is always great.
