Recently, I have been testing out more in the content network than the search, and I am a bit happy & dissapointed. There were many article, e-books and forum posts saying that advertising in the content network is cheaper than advertising in Google search or their search network. But since I am making some tests on it, I will say that is not cheaper in terms of clicks but in terms of ROI, some sites can give you better ROI than the search.

I started this test with some $0.05 and even $0.01 per click and got a lot of traffic from the content network (and Poor ROI) but then running the statistcs reports that Google gives, you will see that most of the traffic comes from sites that are “cheap” like sites that are built just for adsense, for example many Blogspot sites, Myspace profiles, Domain sponsors, and others.

Then I did a little bit of risk adding bids for $1 to $2, and guess what? All sites that are in the TOP search engine for the keywords that I was advertising my ad were there and there were many clicks (tons) and the ROI? Was really great!

In conclusion, till now I will say that if you want to really success in Content Network, you will have to bid HIGH to get Quality traffic that Converts! But because of this, you will need buget. Sometimes if you are bidding on a niche that is in HIGH demand you will spent at least $1000 to $2000 per day. But Is really worth testing it!

Good post. I have a question…in order to bid so high, can I ask how much you are making per sale or lead? Seems like you would have be making a high commission. My offers only bring in $3.00 a lead and I couldn’t afford that price. Please advise. God Bless!

If you lead is $3 you can’t bid so high remember advertising in adwords we are focussing on ROI and not traffic (of course if you are an affiliate marketer or selling your own product). I tried many affiliate programs in different niches, some of them give you $50 per lead.
