We have received an email from 1&1 that they are promoting a contest to their affiliates. Check out this amazing contest:

1&1 wants to send you on a dream vacation. It’s our 20th Anniversary, but we’re giving our Affiliates like you the presents.

Now, in addition to offering up to $300 per sale, 1&1 is giving away a trip for two to Jamaica, a big-screen TV, a laptop computer, an iPhone, and more fabulous prizes in its 20th Anniversary Affiliate Contest! Learn all about this amazing contest, as well as our new “3 months free” offers and brand new ad creatives in this Special Contest Edition eNews.

It is really amazing how 1&1 and many other companies makes their affiliate feel that they are important. Is true that there are many bad-mouthing about their services and as well there are good testimonials about them, I have seen many things like this with the hosting industry. I am sure that we are not one of the top affiliates of them but we promote them and we are doing quite good and their conditions are easy to enter. I will promise you that if we (etalk network) wins this 1&1 contest we will give the prizes to Googlelady’s readers. So in case you want to purchase a service from them click on one of these banners or text links and I am sure that this month we will be doing better you can check 1&1 coupons to save a little more:

20th Anniversary Affiliate Contest

This is a contest you can win! An all-inclusive trip for two to Jamaica, a big-screen TV, and a laptop are just a few of many prizes you can win simply for earning 10 commissions with 1&1 in a three month span. Here’s how:

Any 1&1 Affiliate who makes 10 commissionable sales through their affiliate link from March 1, 2008 to May 31, 2008 will earn an entry for the contest. Each subsequent 10 commissionable sales made in that time span will earn additional entries. There is no limit to how many entries an affiliate can earn. The more you sell, the better chance you have to win! But even if you can only recommend 10 new hosting customers – you still could win the Grand Prize, 7 day, 6 night all-inclusive trip for two to Montego Bay, Jamaica. With hosting plans starting at $3.99/month, making 10 sales in three months is easy.

With these conditions is very easy to join, and would like to tell you that we have at least 2 entries each month, so Googlelady’s readers get ready to get a good contest “If we get lucky”

I am with 1&1 – but I honestly could not sell this to anyone. 1&1 has the absolutely WORST customer support in the world. They repeatedly double-bill us for domains, do not reply to suport emails, when they do – they are unacceptably rude, incompetent, generic and irrelevant to the question. They support is outsourced abroad. They may be cheap, but they are just abysmal and a complete and utter nightmare to deal with. Stay away from 1&1.

Thanks Alex for your review about 1&1, but why you bought a domain with your hosting company, this is the #1 rule: Don’t buy a domain name from your hosting company because one of the things that can happen is what you said or/and delete your domain name when you stop using their hosting services. Not Only 1&1.

Great affiliate promotion here. Sounds like an offer a lot of people will like to promote. If you can make a dent in the market, hosting affiliate offers offer a very good ROI.

Ja mon! Gotta be one of the cooler affiliate contests out there. Just 10 hosting sales to get entered into the drawing? Sounds good to me…

I am sure, like all hosting companies, they work fine for some people, and not others. I suspect that most disagreements with hosting companies result from not reading the T&Cs or expecting more than was promised. Double billing??? I highly doubt this…billing for late fees, renewals, collection fees, this I could believe. Anyway. I like 1&1, but understand why GoogleLady says that it is always risky to place both domains and hosting with the same provider.
