1n1 have one of the worst customer support and they have other hosting issues I won’t get into.

Just remember - if you actually are thinking of staying with 1&1 - that their customer support is abysmal, based abroad, staffed by people who have no technical training whatsoever, they do NOT support SPF, and are often blocked from sending messages to MSN/Live, Excite, etc. They might “accidentaly” double-charge you and forget to refund you…do I need to go on?

Hi Googlelady - yes, please do. Ask Mr. Gauger why his support staff is rude, incompetent and based abroad (which is not a problem in itself if you know your stuff), without any technical training. Ask him what it takes to get a personal reply, instead of a generic and relevant one.
Ask him why I never got a reply to a personal letter sent to both him in Germany, and the CEO of 1&1 UK, highlighting a number of issues and problems with 1&1’s services, support staff and billing.
Just ask Mr. Gauger to google “1&1 complaints” and try to follow up on a couple of those.
Also ask him why he employs staff who does not know how to apologise nor make things right when there’s a problem, and instead blames the customer.
Ask him why the domain expiration dates are not listed in the user’s control panel.
Phew. I could go on……

Alex, The CEO of etalk Network have contacts with Online Marketing coordinator and the director of 1&1. I can’t send you the personal emails from him but I could give him an email to see your case. Can you email me the details (Domain Name that is under your account) of your complaints and may be they will help you? I already made the interview and asked this question, there is a professional answer there which will be published on Monday. I will try to help you Alex, I am an affiliate with them but I also care about my readers.
I have heard many complaints about 1&1 but the truth I don’t believe what I read I believe what I test. That’s why I opened the hosting case study which I am testing every host that is listed on that thread. I will buy a 1&1 account and test it out as well.
