Sometimes you are a fan of a blogger that teach you every day with their blog posts and sometimes when a blogger has a big readership base they can’t answer to everyone. That’s why I try always to contact bloggers and ask them if they will accept an interview. This time is for Amit From Super Affiliate Mindset blog. Before going on I will thank Amit for accepting the interview and answer long-interview. This is an interesting interview which a super affiliate and a well-known marketer give you a lot of tips, read it very well and APPLY always what you learn.

  • Q. Could you introduce yourself for those that don’t know you?

    A. Please refer to my blog about me section.

  • Q. What do you think about Affiliate Marketing and The Future of it?

    A. I think the future of affiliate marketing will bring us two things :

    1) stricter standards for what is allowed with search engines : affiliates will really have to strive to add value and build something long term. Thin affiliate sites and black hat tactics will not cut it anymore.

    2) new opportunities : with using social media, mobile ads, and social networking platforms to drive affiliates sales.

What’s cool about affiliate marketing is as one method of traffic generation gets saturated or highly competitive, there’s new avenues for making money opening up!

  • Q. As I commented few days ago in your blog that SEO will be a factor to have Good Google Adwords Quality Score. What do You Think About it?

    A. I totally agree, the time the visitor spends on your site (before they hit the back button) is already a factor in determining quality score. Soon you’ll see factors such as pagerank, domain age, and various trust factors play a factor is determining your adwords quality score. We’re going to increasing see a convergence between paid and natural search, so get ready!

  • Q. Many People are trying to be a super-affiliate but there are many strategies out there, which one do you think is the best one?

    A. It depends which stage you’re at. If you’re a newbie I recommend direct linking with ppc in order to learn the system. Then once you have a handle on that, start building landing pages, once you find a hot niche working on building out a authority/content site around your ppc landing pages for that niche.

  • Q. You mentioned many times, that you started with a very low budget with affiliate marketing, and I am sure that many affiliate marketers started like this, I was one of them. But may be You had luck as I had to find a profitable campaign and start building the empire. What you will recommend or suggest for those with little budget?

    A. If you have a small budget, just keep your bid prices and daily budget low in the beginning, I started with $10/day and now I spend $5k/day on Google, consistently. I slowing build it up over time. Of course once you find a profitable niche with high search volume, you’ll need a combination of a high limit credit card + possibly a loan to invest in more ad spend. I took out $10k out of my home equity line of credit to fund my business when I found that first hot niche.

  • Q. If you want to start to promote a new offer. What do you look for? Commission? Popularity?

    A. Without getting into the nitty gritty of market research, I would go with Popularity, since you’re more likely to have success in a market others are already successful in.

  • Q. When I first started affiliate marketing the main problem was Finding a profitable Market and keywords. Could you give some tips on how to or not to search for a profitable market?

    A. Look for a niche that already has :

    1) High Search volume,

    2) Existing affiliate competition

Another tip : Every niche has a angle or keyword ideas that most affiliates are missing, find the angle. For example for movie downloads the angle is to bid on popular movie names

  • Q. I think that one of the most important things to succeed in affiliate marketing is to be patient. People start a campaign and when they see that they received 10 clicks without a conversion they stop their campaign for fear to lose more. When do you think someone should stop their campaing?

    A. Wait for at least 500-1000 clicks, depending on the offer payout and other factors.

  • Q. If someone wants to advertise in a very competitive keyword for example: Mesothelioma (Which is one of the most expensive keywords in Google adwords).

Do you recommend to bid as high as possible to get at the #1 page? What do you think is the best strategy.

    A. For your high converting keywords, yes you want them on page #1. For s super competitive market it may be a good idea to start on page 2 and see what converts. Bid your high converting keywords up to the first page.

Oh yeah, a BIG key in competitive marketing continually split testing your top traffic ads for high CTR.

  • Q. Talking about showing your ad at the #1 page of results. Do you think is worth bidding in your keywords and showing your ads in #2 or #3 page of the search engines?

    A. Not really unless its a very high traffic keyword

  • Q. Do you prefer to use third-party affiliate networks than program that have in-house affiliate system? Why?

    A. Yes, third party networks, usually have higher payouts and are more reliable in terms of paying affiliates.

  • Q. If you have to choose just one affiliate network Which one you will choose? Why?

    A. Sorry, not going to disclose that ;)

  • Q. Few days ago I wrote about an article “What’s up Commission Juction” and mentioned that many affiliate programs are getting out of there. Why do you think this is happening with them?

    A. Can’t say, just started working with CJ.

  • Q. For those people that can’t attend to events like Affiliate Summit. Can you share a few success tips That you learned from there?

    A. The most important part of going to conference like the affiliate summit is not for the sessions but rather networking with other affiliates and merchants. The networking is PRICELESS.

  • Q. In My Case Study on how to make money online in 3 months. I was able to make +$12,000 in 3 months with just Social Networking (without spending anything just time and few clicks).

Do you think those type of sites will replace Pay Per Click?

    A. Social networking will definitely replace PPC in certain markets, it’s a HUGE source of traffic and if you’re not using it to drive traffic to your affiliates you will lose out in the long run. However, PPC will always be around as long as people want to search for something specific for solve a specific problem through search engine results.

  • Q. To motivate those people that are losing hope in affiliate marketing. How much (in profits) do you make per month?

    A. My companies net around $90k/month right now.

  • Q. This is off-topic but the eTalk Network Team are just in love with you. Are you planning to travel to San Andres Islas Colombia?

    A. Not in the near future! May be in 2010 ;)

  • Q. What is the best post that you found in Googlelady? And What do you like to say to finish this interview?

    A. Googlelady posts about Adwords are in my opinion the best! :)
