Landing Page: What You Need Before Getting Started
June 6, 2008
This article focuss on creating landing pages for YOUR products and not promoting other products or services. Before you get started building your landing page, you will need a number of things to:
- a) make your offer actually have a point
- b) facilitate the creation of your landing page.
One thing you absolutely must have before you get started is an autoresponder. Without any autoresponder, you are tossing potential bags of money in the garbage. Rather than creating a relationship with customers and potential customers – and giving yourself the opportunity to attempt future upsales — you’re allowing them to leave and never return. iContact is a good autoresponder and you can test them for 15 days free. Their Prices are really competitive comparing to others:

Applying email marketing to your landing page is really worth the time and the little money to spend. Few days ago I read a report that someone with approximatly 10,000 registered member he is making more than $20,000 per month just from the list. So building your email subscribers with Quality and target audience you will cut the spends on PPC and increase the ROI.
In addition to an autoresponder, you will need to have an actual offer that people want to buy. You may want to develop a product, such as an E-book or a piece of software. If you don’t have the skills to do either, you can always hire a professional to do it for you through Get a Freelancer (My Favorite) or ScripTLAnce both of them are good. You will then either want to sell this product and attempt to get subscribers from your thank you page – or you will want to get subscribers by offering the product for free (which is what many Internet marketers now do). But always remember to create a Quality product!
Another thing you absolutely must have before you get started is a check out service. You may want to consider Google Check Out, Click2Sell, 2Checkout , Sale Flurry, or Paypal. All of these services will allow you to make transactions quickly. But also remember that is good to have two payment processors for those that can’t pay with paypal. I would really recommend 2Checkout (I am using this merchant in Googlelady) not just because you can accept payment from the major credit cards but also your customers can pay via Paypal and other methods. They also have an “Affiliate Network” where you can promote other products that use 2Checkout.
To get the most sales you can create 3 landing page for the same product but you will need to change the content of each landing page (to not being penalized as duplicate content) and then add one landing page using ClickBank which have a huge affiliate base, One for Click2Sell which also have different affiliates as well as 2Checkout which you can register your product in their affiliate program marketplace and many 2checkout members will promote it. Always remember don’t put all your eggs in one basket.
